CVE-2022-39212Network attack vector

Private frame disclosure via stale disabled track

Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Information disclosure in Nextcloud Talk before 13.0.8 and 14.0.0 through 14.0.3 allows attackers to view a disabled camera's last frame. The web client reused the locally displayed MediaStream as the stream sent to peers, so some browsers retained a previously sent track after it was disabled or stopped. Exploitation requires joining the same call while the participant has a camera selected, and exposure is limited to the final captured frame rather than live video.
