CVE-2022-39201Network attack vector

Authentication cookie disclosure via proxy forwarding

Published Oct 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Information disclosure in Grafana 5.0.0-beta1 through 8.5.13 and 9.0.0 through 9.1.7 allows attackers to obtain user authentication cookies. The data source and plugin proxy paths filter cookies through ClearCookieHeader but do not forcibly exclude Grafana's configured login cookie from outbound requests. Exploitation requires high privileges and user interaction, and the destination plugin receives the exposed session cookie.
