Code execution via X_T parser over-read
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in affected Siemens Parasolid and Simcenter Femap releases allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading past an allocated structure, affecting Parasolid before 34.0.254, 34.1.244, or 35.0.184 and Simcenter Femap before 2023.1. Execution requires a user to open the malicious file and runs only in the context of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
