Code execution via X_T parser over-read
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in affected Siemens Parasolid and Simcenter Femap releases allows attackers to execute code via a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser reads beyond the end of an allocated buffer while processing malformed file data, and Siemens reports code execution in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-supplied file, bounding the consequence to that user's application process and privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
