Code execution via X_T parser buffer overwrite
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Parasolid and Simcenter Femap allows attackers to execute code through a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser writes beyond the end of an allocated buffer while processing malformed file data; Siemens has not identified the affected routine. Execution requires a user to open the file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
