CVE-2022-39146

Code execution via uninitialized pointer access

Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Uninitialized pointer access in Siemens Parasolid and Simcenter Femap allows attackers to execute code through a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser accesses a pointer that has not been initialized while processing attacker-controlled file data. Execution requires a user to open the malicious file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the affected process.
