Code execution via X_T parser buffer overwrite
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Parasolid and Simcenter Femap allows context-dependent attackers to execute code through a crafted X_T file. The X_T parser fails to validate user-supplied geometry data before writing past the end of an allocated buffer in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, after which attacker-controlled code runs with that process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
