Code execution via crafted TIF heap overflow
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to execute code through a crafted TIF file. During parsing, TIF-controlled data overruns a fixed-length heap buffer; Siemens does not identify the parser routine or malformed field. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, and successful code runs with the privileges of the affected application process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
