Local denial of service via sensor bounds omission
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in the Unisoc sensor driver on Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12 allows local users to cause kernel denial of service. A missing bounds check lets sensor-driver processing write beyond an intended buffer. Exploitation requires local access to the affected Android kernel component; the stated consequence is service interruption without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
