Device hang via malformed Zigbee broadcast frame
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
Denial of service in IKEA TRÅDFRI Gateway before 1.19.26 allows physically proximate attackers to hang the gateway via Zigbee. The Zigbee receiver mishandles one malformed unauthenticated IEEE 802.15.4 broadcast frame, although the faulty parser operation is undisclosed. Radio range alone is sufficient, and the resulting hang blocks app and remote-control lighting commands without exposing or altering data.
