CVE-2022-39064

Factory reset via replayed malformed Zigbee frames

Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025

Improper Zigbee frame handling in IKEA TRÅDFRI LED1732G11 bulbs allows physically proximate attackers to factory-reset the lights. The bulb accepts an unauthenticated broadcast frame with malformed IEEE 802.15.4 data and, when the identical frame is replayed, treats it as a factory-reset trigger. Radio-range access is sufficient; repeated frames erase Zigbee network and brightness configuration, leave lights at full brightness, and prevent app or remote control.
