Agent-context script execution via crafted customer URL
Published Sep 5, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Stored XSS in affected OTRS and ((OTRS)) Community Edition releases allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an agent session. The customer URL field stores attacker-controlled script content from the administrative interface or external database and LDAP sources, then renders it as a clickable link. An authenticated administrator must plant the value and another agent must click it; affected releases include OTRS 7.0.0 through 7.0.36, OTRS 8.0.0 through 8.0.24, and Community Edition 6.0.1 and later 6.0.x releases.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0.x <=7.0.36
