Command execution via unsanitized upload path
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files. The upload.cgi input_upload.cgi routine appends the unsanitized filename parameter to a base directory and opens the resulting path for writing. Administrative HTTP credentials are required; overwriting files such as /etc/shadow enables root access and arbitrary command execution.
