CVE-2022-39040Network attack vector

Arbitrary file download via log path traversal

Published Jan 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

Path traversal in the a+HRD log-read function in versions 6.8 and 7.0 allows remote attackers to download arbitrary system files. The log-read parameter accepts a traversal pathname without restricting resolution to the intended log directory, then returns the referenced file. Exploitation requires no account but requires knowledge of the target's file structure; the documented impact is disclosure of readable files.
