CVE-2022-3901Network attack vector

DOM-based XSS via polluted URL parameters

Published Feb 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025

Prototype pollution in Visio Globe VisioWeb 1.10.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter inherited object properties via a crafted URL. The getURLParameters function in bundled mapviewer-uikit code parses URL parameters without blocking prototype keys, allowing crafted input to overwrite properties inherited by page objects. DOM-based XSS requires a downstream application gadget that passes a polluted value into the DOM or a JavaScript execution context; the disclosed work did not demonstrate that full chain.
