System-app file access via mismatched bundle deserialization
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
NFC bundle deserialization mismatch in Huawei EMUI 12.0.0 and HarmonyOS 2.0 allows attackers to read and write system-app files via third-party apps. The NFC module serializes and deserializes bundle data inconsistently, permitting a third-party app to cross system-app file-access boundaries. A third-party app must reach the affected module; exploitation exposes and modifies files otherwise restricted to system apps.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
