Device restart via MPTCP race condition
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Race condition in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 and 2.1 and EMUI 11.0.0, 11.0.1, and 12.0.0 allows remote attackers to restart devices. Huawei identifies the locus as the MPTCP module but has not published which shared resource lacks synchronization or how network activity wins the race. Exploitation requires a high-complexity network race, needs no authentication or user interaction, and causes an availability-only device reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
