Memory corruption via storage-module double free
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
A double free in the storage module of Huawei EMUI 11.0.0, Magic UI 4.0.0, and HarmonyOS 2.0 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory. The module releases the same memory allocation twice, but Huawei has not disclosed the affected code path, triggering input, or reachable interface. No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful triggering corrupts process memory; the resulting device behavior is undisclosed.
