Arbitrary post deletion via nonce-free AJAX handler
Published Mar 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in WP OAuth Server before 4.2.5 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary posts via a forged request. The wo_ajax_remove_client AJAX handler accepts an attacker-chosen object identifier without nonce validation and deletes it without confirming that it identifies an OAuth client. An administrator must be logged in and induced to submit the request; the resulting deletion can affect any client or WordPress post.
