Authenticated imaging-record disclosure via patientId tampering
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Authorization bypass in Canon Medical Informatics Vitrea View before 7.8 allows remote authenticated users to read unrelated imaging records. The custom patient SSO module accepts a modified patientId POST parameter at vitrea-view/studies/search without verifying that the requested record belongs to the authenticated patient. Exploitation requires valid patient credentials, custom patient SSO access enabled, and the ability to modify and monitor POST variables; disclosure is limited to records exposed through the search workflow.
