CVE-2022-38756Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session takeover via session ID query parameters

Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025

Information disclosure in Micro Focus GroupWise Web before 18.4.2 allows remote attackers to obtain session IDs through HTTP logs. When email content is accessed, the GW Web component places the session ID in the query string of its Post Office Agent request, allowing browser history, web-server logs, and reverse-proxy logs to retain it. A user must access email content, and an attacker must then read an intervening log or browser history; the exposed ID permits takeover of that user's session.
