CVE-2022-38745

Local Java code execution via empty classpath

Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Code injection in Apache OpenOffice before 4.1.14 allows local users to execute arbitrary Java code from the current directory. An empty Java class-path entry makes the runtime search the working directory and load attacker-controlled classes from it. Execution requires a vulnerable installation configured with the empty entry and user interaction in a directory containing malicious code.
