CVE-2022-38697

Local contacts disclosure via missing permission check

Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025

Missing authorization in Unisoc Android 10 through 12 messaging service allows local users to disclose contacts-service data. The service omits a permission check before allowing access to an unexpected contacts-service provider; Unisoc has not disclosed the responsible interface or operation. A local caller needs no additional execution privileges, and the documented impact is limited to reading data exposed by that provider.
