Operator credential exposure via machine-independent encryption
Published Dec 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Inadequate encryption in HCL BigFix Platform 9.5 through 9.5.20 and 10 through 10.0.7 allows local users to obtain Windows operator credentials. The Windows operator-credential protection does not bind encrypted credentials completely to the originating machine. HCL has not disclosed the triggering scenarios or cipher operation; its assessment requires high local privileges and identifies credential confidentiality and integrity impact without service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
