Fixlet tampering via missing operator authorization
Published Dec 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Improper access control in HCL BigFix WebUI 20 allows remote authenticated users to alter fixlet relevance or deploy support fixlets. Authorization controls are absent from the non-master operator paths that edit applicability relevance and deploy content from the BES Support site. A valid non-master operator account is required, and successful abuse changes fixlet behavior or distributes vendor-provided actions to managed endpoints.
