Account takeover via POST parameter script injection
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Nortek Linear eMerge E3-Series allows remote attackers to take over administrator or lower-privileged accounts. The ack_log.php endpoint processes the POST no parameter without neutralizing injected JavaScript, allowing script execution in a user's browser. The chain requires local session fixation and victim interaction; successful exploitation assumes the victim's session and privileges.
