Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked download path
Published Sep 9, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Path traversal in SmartVista Cardgen 3.28.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through its web interface. The System Directories screen accepts an attacker-controlled path, and /svcl/download combines that stored directory with an unchecked fileName parameter. A valid session and permission to modify a system-directory row are required; exploitation discloses readable host files without altering them.
