Internal resource access via attacker-controlled proxy header
Published Oct 24, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
SSRF in Zalando Skipper before 0.13.237 allows remote attackers to access internal services by supplying an X-Skipper-Proxy header. The proxyFromHeader path parses the client-supplied header as a proxy URL and hands it to the HTTP transport instead of retaining the internally selected destination in trusted request context. No authentication or user interaction is required, and reachable metadata services or other unauthenticated internal URLs can be read or invoked through the proxy.
