Service interruption via unchecked lan parameter copy
Published Aug 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap buffer overflow in Tenda M3 1.0.0.12(4856) allows remote authenticated users to interrupt httpd via a crafted lan parameter. The formSetFixTools function allocates a 0x28-byte heap buffer, then copies the POST value with strncpy without checking the source length. Normal access requires login; the published emulation demonstration disabled the security handler, so unauthenticated reachability is not established.
