Database read and write via unescaped report checksum
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Archery 1.7.0 through 1.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database data via checksum. The report view passes the unescaped checksum request value to ChartDao query methods, which incorporate it into SQL for execution. Any logged-in account can retrieve other users’ Django session keys and obtain DBA privileges without the normal SQL-review controls.
