Arbitrary file write via unrestricted filename paths
Published Oct 24, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Path traversal in AgeVolt Portal before 0.1 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files through System Setup uploads. The upload handler accepts the filename parameter as a full filesystem path and writes the supplied file outside its intended directory. Authenticated menu access is required; writes use web server privileges and can overwrite system files, enabling server compromise when the service runs as root.
