Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds JP2 parsing
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Acrobat Reader 22.002.20212 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory through a crafted JP2 image. The JP2 image parser accepts crafted image data and reads past the end of its allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page, exposing process memory and weakening ASLR without directly modifying data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
