Arbitrary file write via unvalidated path
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Path traversal in Adobe ColdFusion 2018 Update 14 and earlier and 2021 Update 4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files. The Application Server endpoint on TCP port 8500 fails to validate a user-supplied path before passing it to file operations. Administrator privileges are required, and successful traversal permits filesystem changes with the service's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
