Arbitrary code execution via SVG heap overflow
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe InCopy 17.3 and earlier and 16.4.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malicious SVG. The SVG parser copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length heap buffer without validating its length, enabling memory corruption. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious file, and code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
