Local privilege escalation via Fusion DLL hijacking

Published Nov 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

DLL search-path hijacking in HP Support Assistant before 9.11 allows local users to elevate privileges when Performance Tune-up starts. Fusion resolves a DLL without restricting the search to trusted locations; HP has not published the DLL name or affected directory.
