Stored XSS via unescaped Tracking Code setting
Published Nov 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
Stored XSS in Analytics for WP 1.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the Tracking Code setting. The plugin stores the Tracking Code value without adequate sanitization and renders it unescaped in an input box, permitting attribute injection. Administrator privileges are required, and execution occurs when a user revisits the settings page and moves the pointer over the crafted field.
