CVE-2022-38389Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file disclosure via external XML entities

Published Feb 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

XXE in IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler 9.4, 9.5, and 10.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through XML uploads. CriteriaManagerDomParser.parseXml creates a DocumentBuilder without disabling external entities, so db.parse resolves attacker-supplied file references. The TWSWebUIAdministrator role is required; exporting the stored configuration discloses arbitrary server files, while malicious XML can also consume memory.
