Administrator-level script execution via unsanitized settings
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Stored XSS in Seed Social before 2.0.4 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute scripts via plugin settings. The settings workflow stores text-field values without sanitizing them or escaping output, then renders them again on the settings page. Administrator-level access is required, and a script runs when a user revisits the injected settings page, including where unfiltered_html is disabled.
