Session hijacking via incomplete script-tag sanitization
Published Sep 27, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
Stored XSS in Vtiger CRM 7.4.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript when a user views an email template. The getProcessedContent method in modules/Emails/models/Mailer.php uses a regular expression that fails to remove a malformed closing script tag before the content enters TemplateIFrame. Access to the Email Templates module is required; the script runs in the viewer's session and can perform actions with that viewer's privileges.
