Stored script execution via unsanitized plugin settings
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Minnur Yunusov External Media before 1.0.36 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores values without input sanitization and renders them without output escaping; public sources do not identify the affected setting names. Administrator privileges are required, and exposure is limited to multisite deployments or sites with unfiltered_html disabled; the script runs when a user opens an injected page.
