Remote code execution via time parameter overflow
Published Sep 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 router 15.03.05.19 and 15.03.05.05 allows remote attackers to execute code through an HTTP request. The httpd handler at /goform/saveParentControlInfo copies attacker-controlled time data into a stack buffer without sufficient bounds, overwriting control data. The endpoint is network reachable without authentication or user interaction, allowing compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability; the public record does not document a vendor fix.
