Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized lang parameter
Published Sep 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in TOTOLink A700RU 7.4cu.2313_B20191024 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the lang parameter. The CGI handler copies the untrusted lang value into a stack command buffer with snprintf and passes the result to cstesystem for shell execution. The crafted request requires no authentication, and successful exploitation runs commands with the router service's privileges, including a demonstrated root shell.
