Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in AeroCMS 0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through /admin/profile.php. The profile handler accepts a crafted PHP file without restricting its dangerous executable type, leaving the uploaded server-side code runnable. Network access and a valid low-privilege account are required; successful exploitation executes attacker-supplied PHP code on the server.
