CVE-2022-38196Network attack vector

Service interruption via authenticated directory overwrite

Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

Path traversal in Esri ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service by overwriting an internal directory. Esri has not disclosed the affected endpoint or how attacker-controlled path components escape the intended directory before the server performs the overwrite. Exploitation requires high-privilege network access and can corrupt internal server files, causing availability loss.
