Stored script execution via crafted queries
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Stored XSS in Esri Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via crafted queries. Portal query handling stores malicious strings and later renders them without sufficient neutralization when another user accesses the affected content. A portal account and later user access are required; the script runs in that user's browser and can expose browser-accessible portal data.
