Browser script execution via stored query strings
Published Aug 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Stored XSS in Esri Portal for ArcGIS configurable apps 10.8.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted queries. The configurable-app query path stores attacker-controlled strings without neutralizing them before a later browser renders the content. No account is required to plant the string, but a user must access the affected content; execution can read or alter data available to that browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
