CVE-2022-38104Network attack vector

Site takeover via unchecked option import

Published Oct 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Missing authorization in Accordions – Multiple Accordions or FAQs Builder 2.0.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify WordPress options. The manual_import_json() function accepts imported option names and values without a sufficient capability check, enabling writes to siteurl, users_can_register, default_role, admin_email, and new_admin_email. A high-privileged WordPress account is required; these writes can redirect the site, enable registration with a privileged default role, or change administrative contact addresses.
