Authenticated command execution via unsanitized custom OID
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
OS command injection in the httpd SNMP function in Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The start_snmpd function writes each custom_oid value from NVRAM directly into an exec entry in /etc/snmpd.conf without neutralizing shell syntax. Administrator-level web credentials are required to save the crafted OID and restart SNMP, after which an SNMP query executes the command on the router.
