Local screen disclosure via unchecked WindowManager IPC
Published Sep 9, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Authentication bypass in OpenHarmony 3.1.2 and earlier allows local users to capture sensitive screen content through WindowManager. DisplayManagerStub accepts IPC requests after checking the interface token but performs no caller permission check before screenshot operations. An ordinary local application is sufficient to capture the screen, and related unchecked operations can switch screens and disrupt use.
