Information disclosure via unterminated EMF profile filename
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the Windows Graphics Component allows local users to disclose sensitive process memory through a crafted EMF image. MRCREATECOLORSPACE::bCheckRecord accepts an unterminated Filename in an EMR_CREATECOLORSPACE record, and path conversion reads beyond the field. A low-privilege user must cause the image to be rendered; a demonstrated Word-document path sends leaked bytes to an attacker-controlled WebDAV server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
